MBA Fellows Program

MBA Fellows Program

The MBA Bar Fellows Program is a highly selective initiative aimed at enriching Oregon’s legal profession by elevating the voices and experiences of aspiring lawyers whose perspectives reflect the complexity of the communities they will serve. The program offers a first-summer paid internship, significant scholarships throughout law school, high-impact networking opportunities, judicial mentorship, and additional resources to support Fellows’ success in law school and in their Oregon legal careers. As the program continues to grow, it will empower students with meaningful support as they pursue their legal education and career goals—ultimately enriching the legal field with professionals whose varied experiences deepen the profession’s perspective and responsiveness. The inaugural class of Multnomah Bar Fellows began law school in the fall of 2018.

To be competitive for the MBA Bar Fellows Program, applicants must (1) demonstrate exceptional potential for success in the legal profession, (2) show a sincere interest in building a legal career in Oregon, and (3) bring unique experiences, perspectives, or challenges that shape their vision for contributing to the Oregon State Bar. Participating law schools will consider applicants’ journeys and insights that position them to make a distinctive impact within the legal system. The participating schools are the University of Oregon and Lewis & Clark. Applicants may apply prior to or shortly after beginning their first year of law school, depending on their school’s application process. Learn more here.
