2012 MBA Sponsor and Donation Opportunities

Please review the sponsorship opportunities below and then go to the link at the bottom of this page which will take you to a fillable PDF form. On the form, you may choose any event(s) that you would like to sponsor. Please fill out the form, including which payment option you prefer and mail or fax the completed form per its instructions. You may call the MBA at 503.222.3275 for questions or to give us credit card information if you do not wish to put your card number in writing.

MBA Sponsorship Opportunities

MBA Annual Meeting and Judges Reception: Sponsorships range from $500-$1,500; 500 lawyers and judges attend the event. Benefits include recognition in the MBA newsletter (5,000 circulation), invitation, signage, printed program and verbal appreciation. Wine sponsorships at $1,500 also receive special table signage.
Fall Absolutely Social - The Grape Escape: $500. Sponsor names are published in the MBA newsletter, printed on the invitation and listed on signage at the event. Sponsors receive two event tickets. Separate cash and food donations may be made at the event, benefiting Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger at the Oregon Food Bank. About 250 attend.
WinterSmash Family Bowling: Sponsorships available to individuals and firms with five or fewer lawyers are $100 for Fun Sponsor, $250 for Really Fun Sponsor and $500 for Life of the Party Sponsor. Sponsorships available to larger firms are $350 Fun Sponsor, $700 Really Fun Sponsor and $1,000 for Life of the Party Sponsor. The single $2,000 sponsorship has been spoken for. It is a fundraiser for CourtCare, the free childcare for families who have business at the courthouse and no other place to take their children. Sponsor benefits include recognition in the MBA newsletter, invitation, event program for all attendees, poster board sign at the event and verbal announcement. Some sponsorships receive free tickets. Approximately 350 attend.
MBA Socials: Opportunities range from $100-$400. There is one sponsorship at $400 for the Bench Bar and Bagels event. Sponsor's logo is published in the MBA newsletter, name included in email invitation and listed on tabletop signs. The Social with Diversity Bars sponsorships are $100. Names are published in the MBA newsletter, in email invitation and listed on the MBA Web site. For the Night at the Spa event, contact MBA to discuss options. 503.222.3275
Golf Outings: These events range from raffle prizes to cash sponsorships between $500-$2,500. Events include family-friendly golf, a lawyer/law student outing, golf clinic and social and the fall championship tournament benefiting the Volunteer Lawyers Project at Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Sponsorship benefits include listing on signage at the event and in the program, MBA newsletter, Web site and broadcast email recognition. Championship sponsors may send representatives; those at the $500 level and above may have a presence at a tee; $2,500 sponsors receive free golf. Approximately 100 golfers attend the tournament.

YLS Sponsorship Opportunities

YLS Membership Socials: These vary. Please call the MBA about options. They include drop-in socials, wine tasting social with CPAs and financial planners, Toys for Tots, Zoo Lights and the CourtCare fundraiser.
YLS Pro Bono Pedal Fundraiser: Sponsorship opportunities range from $100-$500. The annual event raises funds to benefit the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) at Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Firms and individuals may be sponsors. Benefits include recognition in marketing materials and the MBA newsletter; firm logos or names are printed on the event t-shirt.
Possible YLS Sponsor Opportunities: YLS committees plan member events and occasionally seek sponsorships for activities such as translations of handbooks and printing of the New Admittee Survival Guide.
YLS Futures Committee: Opportunities range between $100-$300. Names are published in the MBA newsletter, on the registration form and on the MBA Web site.
YLS Service to the Public: Sponsorships for Community Law Week are $250; and those at the $500 level are additionally deemed YOUthFILM Project Executive Producer Sponsors. Benefits include listings on community-wide distributed brochures and the MBA newsletter. Executive Producer Sponsors are also recognized on the YOUthFILM Web site, movie posters, DVDs and at the Hollywood Theatre screening.
YLS Volunteer Recognition event: $500 sponsorships. Firm names are listed on invitations, MBA newsletter and recognized at the event.

Seminars

MBA CLE: Volunteers are planning an event with a national speaker. Occasionally, seminars include a social afterward. Details for these opportunities will be announced as they are known.
YLS PDE/CLE Seminars: Sponsorships help keep YLS seminar prices low and provide the ability to upgrade or expand. One or two per year, ranging from $100-$300.

Multnomah Bar Foundation

Civic Education Fund: Grants are given to nonprofits whose programs increase civic education and participation across a broad spectrum of citizens, and to develop a video series on democracy topics. Gifts of $100 and above receive recognition in the MBA newsletter and Web site. Gifts of $1,000 and above are also listed on special signage at events. One, two or three-year commitments are available.
Year-end Giving: Look for the annual December newsletter insert. Donations may be designated for the Civic Education Fund or where most needed, or In Memoriam or In Honor of a special person or occasion.
Dues Check-off: Simply add the $25 suggested amount, or more, when you pay your dues or those of the members in your firm. Donors giving more than the suggested amount are recognized in the MBA newsletter.

Access to Justice

Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) Dues Check-off: Your donation helps support the local VLP which provides legal assistance each year to over 2,000 low-income residents. Simply add the $25 suggested amount, or more. Donors giving more than the suggested amount are recognized in the MBA newsletter.
